CELDT

The GGSUD California English Development Test assesses English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing annually based on the ELD standards. These standards identify five proficiency levels through which English learners progress toward English proficiency: Beginning, Early Intermediate, Intermediate, Early Advanced, and Advanced.

The purpose:
  • A measure that teachers use in combination with other school information to make decisions about classification of English learners.
  • he scores define five levels of proficiency: Beginning, Early Intermediate, Intermediate, Early Advanced and Advanced.

How to get the results:
  • Contact their student’s teacher and/or school guidance office
  • Request a conference to review the CELDT
  • Attend informational meetings scheduled by the school

The cost: Free of charge

Location for testing: Students will take the test at their current high school campus.
