Welcome to my website, I hope you find it informative.  I have been a teacher at BGHS since September 1989. During that time I have taught in two departments, ELD and Home Economics.
I graduated from California State Long Beach in 1982 with a BA in Home Economics and an emphasis in Child Development. My first teaching job was at Irvine Intermediate School in Garden Grove. While at Irvine I discovered how much I enjoyed working with non-English speakers and I began taking classes at UCI and Cal State Long Beach to become authorized to teach ELD. I finished my classes in 1992 and passed my state CLAD examination at that time.
I believe that becoming fluent in English is the key to my student's success. If they become fluent in English, that will open the door to whatever college and career they want to pursue.
My husband and I have 3 daughters. Two are grown and live on their own. My youngest daughter is in junior high. We live in Irvine and like to spend our free time at the beach.
This year I have also become the Fellowship Club adviser and I am very excited to get to know those students and become part of that club.
