This is my 9th year as a Matador. I teach United States History, AP US and AVID 11.
I grew up in the district, graduating from Garden Grove High School. I then attended California State University, Fullerton where I majored in history. After graduation, I continued my education at Cal State Fullerton to obtain my secondary subject credential in social science.
I spend my summers and some winter breaks traveling with family, friends or solo. I've been lucky enough to visit Europe on several occasions finding Edinburgh as my favorite city (with London and Dublin close behind) and Norway as the most beautiful. I've taken two solo trips to Scotland and Germany on separate occasions. In the summer of 2010, I went to China for about a month to teach children English; it was such a memorable experience. I always look forward to future trips whether they be on the road, to nearby Mexico or to another continent.
My mission is to provide historical knowledge while challenging students' critical thinking skills to help them actively and meaningfully participate in their communities. Therefore, I do believe in discussions, debates, different perspectives, research and writing. Therefore, this class will be challenging, but you will learn.
I am available to meet with parents and students most mornings and afternoons. Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org; I check my email daily, except on the weekends.
