Good Summer to all A.P. Biology students. I hope you have started thinking about working on your chapter worksheets. Some of you have started and some of you have finished. Such a variety. Either way, make sure they are done by the beginning of school.

I am asking you to purchase your 8 X 11 spiral for your lab journal ahead of time. The students last year had trouble finding them because other school districts start before us and the school supply stores were sold out. So, in hopes of preventing that this year, I am asking that you purchase it ahead of time so that you have it the first week of school. What I want is an 8 X 11 spiral notebook containing graph paper. If finding the graph paper one is proving to be difficult, you may use an 8 X 11 spiral with college rule paper. I will accept no other type of lab journal. You may find these at Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, etc. If you can find them at Target or another store and they are cheaper, go for it. Office Depot was the least expensive and had the largest number when I checked a few weeks ago.

Attached is the syllabus for the 2013-2014 school year. You will receive a copy in class but I have found it helpful to have it posted on line, also. Please use the syllabus. It will guide you as to what you need to read in the book and what you need to know to be able pass the test. Do not ignore the syllabus. It is your friend.

A.P. Biology Summer Assignment for the school year of 2013-2014.

Complete the worksheet for Chapters 1-5. The worksheets and chapters are below. If the web page 'disappears' later in July, do not worry. It just means it is time for me to create the web page for next year. I will re-upload everything you need for the assignment.

When completing the worksheets, be sure to read the complete chapter. When answering the questions, use complete sentences and complete thoughts. This will help you process the information. Remember, right now it is easy. We are reviewing; I am building a foundation. Later in the course when the challenging stuff comes, you will be prepared and have the skills to process it.
Be sure to do the vocabulary. Complete sentences are not necessary but putting the definition in your own words will be very beneficial for you. You will need to speak and explain in class.
