Advanced Placement Exam (AP)
Advanced Placement (AP) exams are standardized tests that evaluate a student's mastery of college-level material taught in AP courses. Participating in the Advanced Placement Program gives students an opportunity to take college level courses while still in high school.
The benefits of AP Courses and Exams:
- College Admissions: Taking AP courses and exams demonstrates a student's readiness for college-level work and can be a positive factor in college admissions.
- College Credit and Placement: Scoring well on AP exams can allow students to earn college credit. Students will save tuition money and potentially shorten their time in college.
- Weighted GPA: Students who perform well in AP courses can achieve a boost in their GPA because AP courses are graded on a different scale. Each class will take an exam that schools worldwide administer in May.
The AP exams will be administered in May at Bolsa Grande. However, students must register and pay for the exams in October and early November. Please check with your counselor for more information.
