Entonces en cada personaje hay una parte de la historia que ustedes van tejiendo y formando para que al final la obra tome todo su sentido. Algunos (as) de ustedes compartirán el mismo personaje, de tal manera que deben coordinar la transición (edad, circunstancia etc) para que los cambios de tiempos no interfieran con el carácter del personaje. La sinopsis de cada grupo es bastante simple. Todo lo que deben hacer es presentar su parte de la lectura en una forma clara, y que le dé al resto de la clase la oportunidad de comprender el desarrollo de la novela. Su presentación debe atraer la atención de la audiencia, debe tener un tono de voz que invite a la clase a escuchar, que emocione a todo el mundo, que haga que sus colegas terminen sentados al borde de sus asientos; en otras palabras: algo sencillo pero con sentido. Cada miembro del grupo debe participar en forma equitativa, y cada miembro debe hablar por un espacio de por lo menos, pero no limitado a tres minutos.
Ojalá que disfruten de esta experiencia, y este no sea otro proyecto que los deje exhaustos y sin inspiración.

GUÍA PARA LA PRESENTACIÓN DE LA OBRA DE ISABEL ALLENDE
Despues de leer el libro (la primera vez traduciendo vocabulario y la segunda par comprender la historia), cada grupo debe preparar una sinopsis de su lectura. Durante cada presentación es recomendable que los demas estudiantes tomen nota para que asi puedan hilar la historia. Al final de las presentaciones, yo (z) daré una charla (en inglés) acerca de la obra y de sus aspectos culturales, sociales y politicos presentados en la obra. En seguida los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de hacer preguntas para clarificar cualquier duda que tengan acerca de Allende o su obra. Luego la clase entera preparará una obra con el título del libro. En la obra los/las estudiantes necesitan coordinar:
1. los personajes y sus edades
2. el vestuario
3. la transición de la historia y sus detalles
Por ultimo cada estudiante escribirá un resumen de su libro en el que incluirá sus porpias conclusiones y opiniones de la obra.

In this project you will research about a classic Spanish painter. You have two options:
- 1. You will write about the painter assigned to you, then presented it to the class, and talk about it. In your essay as well as your oral presentation you need to include the year of the painting, the technique used by the painter, the meaning given to the painting, and its influence in the world of art.
- 2. You need to use 3 minutes to present, thus you need to study the painter and the painting in as much detail as possible. Keep in mind:
- a. Who (what) influenced or inspired the painter?
- b. What is the painter trying to depict in his painting?
- c. What legacy did the painter leave for the world of art?
- d. What kind, if any, obstacles did the painter face in trying to present his (her) ideas to the world?
- e. How did the historic moment influence the painter’s work?

La idea es crear una empresa que genere beneficios para sus fundadores, mientras al mismo tiempo sirve a la comunidad. La empresa puede fabricar un producto o prestar un servicio. Piensen en una empresa que sea justa con sus empleados, y en la que las ganancias sean distribuidas equitativamente entre sus empleados y fundadores. Imaginen el beneficio de tener empleados fieles a la compañía, que quieran trabajar con esmero porque se sienten incluidos y respetados por los empleadores. Piensen también en cómo pueden trabajar con la comunidad para el beneficio común. No se limiten a crear un producto de consumo que tenga mucha competencia, sino que sea innovador, algo revolucionario. Piensen en áreas como la tecnología, la salud, el medio ambiente, y otros temas que están afectando el mundo en el presente. Den un informe detallado del producto o servicio que van a ofrecer.
Primero deben hacer un plan de negocio. Segundo expliquen cómo van a ejecutar el plan. Tercero hablen de la política de la empresa con respecto a sus empleados (socios), cuales son la proyecciones de la compañía para el futuro, y cuáles son los beneficios para la comunidad.

En su oral van a hacer una representación de su sistema político en forma de drama. Ustedes pueden personificar a un líder y su forma de ejecutar el sistema. También pueden tener en la obra al (los) ideólogos del sistema, y hacer una exposición de cómo se aplica el sistema y porqué estos líderes creen que su sistema es el mejor y la salvación para la sociedad de acuerdo al momento histórico que se vive. Como cada uno de ustedes está representando al sistema, deben vestirse de acuerdo a la ocasión. Un disfraz (sin gastar dinero) es una buena idea. Traten se ser lo más convincentes posible, y eso comienza con su apariencia.
Cada estudiante debe hablar por un mínimo de DOS (2) minutos para que reciba crédito completo.

Rigoberta Menchú y la discriminación mundial
This presentation may bring emotions, and controversy but may also bring new ideas and solutions to the disease of racism and discrimination. In a multi-cultural society we find ourselves absorbed into a main stream culture that’s constantly defining what is American, and stereotypes some groups that may be profiled as the outsiders or even the enemies of our society. Your mission is to have a forum in your groups, and present Rigoberta Menchú’s story. Then your groups will conduct a discussion about your personal experiences, and your encounters with discrimination. There can be one or two moderators asking questions, and the rest of your group members answering, and proposing solutions to the problems presented.
Once again, this an ORAL presentation, and must not have any reading . Remember that you’re creating the script thus you’re presenting your own ideas. Memorization is tricky, and may fail when you’re nervous speaking in front of the class. If you understand what you’re saying, you can modify when you forget a word.
Each one of the group members needs to talk for a minimum of TWO MINUTES in order to receive full credit. Enjoy the project, and I hope it brings a productive discussion, and positive results.
