AVID 09

Advancement Via Individual Determination The 9th grade AVID class is geared for college eligability. This means that we focus on study skills, organization, time management, goal setting, as well as career and college exploration. This first year we stress the importance of the habbits that are developed in high school are to be followed through into college. As BGHS AVID freshmen, these students are required to: 1. take the PSAT test in Oct. 2. participate in the AVID activites in and outside of school. 3. come on the AVID field trip (University of LaVerne, and Cal Poly Pomona) Please refer to the AVID 09 Course outline for required materials as well as expectations.
