AVID 12

Advancement Via Individual Determination The 12th grade AVID class is geared for college readiness. This means that we still expect the studetns to show mastery in the skills they learned in 9th and 10th grades: study skills, organization, time management, goal setting, as well as career and college exploration. In 11th grade we focus on research skills, as well as getting ready for career and college selection. As BGHS AVID seniors, these students are required to: 1. take the SAT and ACT test. You can take this test multiple times. 2. participate in the AVID activites in and outside of school. 3. come on the AVID field trip (Usually a cultural experience) 4. Apply for multiple colleges, scholarships, and financial aid 5. Learn and practice 21st Century Life Skills. Please refer to the AVID 12 Course outline for required materials as well as expectations.
