Description
This is the second level in our ELD program. Students will be taught in English to improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will participate in the Reading Counts program, write papers that include a topic sentence, body, and conclusion. Students will become familiar with present, simple past tense, and many irregular past tense verbs. Students will have opportunities to read a variety of genres from the Milestones text and several abridged novels throughout the year. Through a variety of activities, students will work to improve oral skills to communicate clearly in English.

Print and complete the Jane Eyre Study Guide. Answer everything in complete sentences. Don't start any answer with "Because" or use "b/c" for any answer. All pictures need to be in color. Staple everything together in order. This is due after vacation on Monday.

Here is your packet for Dragonwings and Da Vinci's Dreams. You should be finished with the Dragonwings packet on Friday 1/11. The Da Vinci packet is due 1/16. Your test for Chapter 1 is Wednesday, 1/16. Be sure to print both pages.
If your work is the same as another students you will receive a 0 on that assignment. Write your own sentences and paragraphs.

This is the first 5 chapter study guides for Pollyanna. There will be more posted for the entire book. All the study guides are due on Monday 1/7 after the holiday vacation. We will also have a project due at that time. More information about the project later.
Download and print all the pages and answer the questions and do the vocabulary for each chapter.

Write a poem about any character in the book Pollyanna, except the main character Pollyanna. Use the Diamante formula to write your poem. The poem should be placed in your Pollyanna study guides in what ever chapter this character is important. For example if you write about Aunt Polly, put your poem in Chapter 1 because that is where we first meet her.

Here is the study questions for Ch 6-8. Remember to keep reading and keep a list of any vocabulary you need to look up, in addition to the assigned vocabulary.
