Welcome to Bolsa Grande's Counseling Department!
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that addresses the academic, personal, and professional development of all learners! In partnership with Garden Grove Unified School District, counselors ensure that all learners are equipped with academic (Goal 1) and personal (Goal 2) skills to build lifelong success (Goal 3).
What We Do
- Academic
- Oversee Bolsa Grande's Early College Academy (ECA)
- 504 and SST coordination
- Master schedule, registration and 4-year plans
- Monitor A-G and graduation status
- Coordinate summer school and Apex
- Coordinate tests such as AP, PSAT, VLPT, and SBAC
- Support students with dual and/or concurrent enrollment
- Coordinate the Seal of Biliteracy
- Personal
- Conduct mental health check-ins
- Referrals to school-based mental health (SBMH) services
- College and Career
- Promote scholarships and scholarship programs
- Support with college applications (UC, CSU, CC, etc.) and financial aid applications (FAFSA & CADAA)
- Conduct grade level career exploration units in classrooms in partnership with California Colleges
- Connect with colleges and universities to host workshops, presentations, and campus visits
